 Meet Johnny

Playing great music from the 60’s and 70’s was the only thing that could lure Johnny Kincaid back to the airwaves after a 12 year break from radio and he’s enjoying every minute of it.

Kincaid grew up listening to top-40 radio in the Pacific Northwest and applied for his radio license before receiving his driver’s permit. By the time he graduated high school he had moved from weekends to full-time night disc jockey on his hometown AM Top 40 station.

In 1984 he was hired to do mornings on WKDQ (before the station became the country music giant it is today) and decided that Evansville was a great place to live.

Now, in addition to what he calls his “on-air therapy sessions,” he works as a tobacco prevention specialist at Smokefree Communities. Johnny also loves to spend time with his wife, Jill, and volunteers in prison ministry.

 Johnny's Interests

General: Prayer is a biggie with me. I even started a website called Pray4Evansville.com and I'm using the site to bring prayer groups together.  After my relationship with the Lord comes my family and friends. I also enjoy all things electronic (but don't call me a geek). I'm also involved in prison ministry and will lead a team of 55 men on a 3 day missions trip inside Wabash Valley Correctional Facility on Labor Day weekend.

Music: Obviously, I'm very passionate about the Superhits. I've always enjoyed the Beatles, Motown, and beach music.

Television: I've given up on the broadcast networks and watch Food Network and Discovery a lot instead. On Friday nights, I'm parked in front of the TV to watch Monk and Psych.

Movies: We don't get to the theater as much as I'd like to. In fact I missed every movie that I wanted to see this summer. All time favorite movies include Field of Dreams and Fried Green Tomatoes.

Tonight on channel 25 there's a new show called "Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution." I highly recommend it.

Jamie attacks the over processed foods that we eat and trys to change the school lunch program in West Virginia. He goes to the unhealthiest city in America for the seies and gets cut down at every turn.

We eat too much junk. In the process of cutting the processed foods from our diet, Jill and I lost a bunch of weight. Going from processed foods to fresh foods can make a big diference in your health.

Right now, I'm on a very strict diet that allows no wiggle room for processed junk. The daily food intake is healthy, organic, and limited to 500 calories a day. Of course we're taking suppliments and using hCG to accomplish this.

Once we're through with the hCG program in a few weeks, we're going to be looking at everything that we eat to make sure that we're making healthier choices.
